The Nantucket Rope Dog Leashes and collars are made in a synthetic golden tan colored rope that is made to resemble natural fiber rope such as sisal, Manila or Hemp ropes but stand up to the elements better than natural fibers while also being soft to the touch. This particular rope is widely used on classic boats and ships now because of its superb properties such as, low stretch, UV resistance, natural classic look, good rot resistance and high tensile strength.
All Nantucket Leashes and Collars are hand spliced and secured with a natural hemp cord sailmakers whipping knot. This splicing and whipping technique has been used by sailors for hundreds of years to secure their ropes. The marine-grade rope and hardware we use gives our leashes and collars a classic look, made to last.
